Conversation in class today

Kid in front of me: "Professor, where do you get your bow ties?"

Professor: "Oh, my wife makes them for me."

starts the lecture.

Professor: "Actually, my wife doesn't make my bow ties. I bought one and it's reversible. It can actually change into a myriad of colors and patterns to create a new tie every day."

continues the lecture.

Professor: "Ok, the truth is, I order my ties from Vermont. They used to have a really good manufacturer of silk bow ties in Monterrey, but they went out of business, so now I go through Vermont. You know, silk ties are interesting things. They actually aren't truly silk, they're a combination of many different fabrics...When George Washington was living, he was considered pretty wealthy and well dressed. But I'll bet you all have more things lying on the floors of your bedrooms and closets than he ever owned."

We learn the best stuff in my class. At least he connected his very long digression with George Washington so that it would apply to the class material.

  1. I think I love this professor and I don't even know him. I also think that if we were males we would wear bowties.
