Minha Gêmea

About 21 1/2 years ago, I was in the womb of my mother. Unlike most, I was not alone. I shared the space with this individual:

We were born only 3 minutes apart, and I don't know if there have ever been twins who've been more different. The older we got, the more different we became. We had different friends as kids, different friends as teenagers. She was in band, I was in orchestra. She danced, I played sports. We got along great, but in no way were we inseparable as some twins are. We hung out occasionally, and when we did, I always had a lot of fun. By the end of high school, we had some of the same friends, and had decided to live together our first year of college. It was so great living with her! We started doing all sorts of things together that we never had before. This summer as we worked in the same office everyday, we became even closer.

Unfortunately, in a mere 9 days, Alyssa is departing, and I won't get to see her for another 18 months. I weep. She's off to serve a mission to the Spanish people of Oklahoma, and boy will I miss her. To you, Alyssa, best of luck! You best send me those letters and not wait to give me the notebook when you get back! I love you! Miss you lady.

Just because I want to put these up, here are some more photos of us:
